Music for Family Bonds

by michelleerfurt on October 12, 2010

Here’s my video comment to this post from Rachel Rambach from Listen & Learn. I share a song that is perfect to use during sessions between parents and children.

As a side note: I’m back to making videos again. Hooray! I had to put videotaping on hold while I renovated my office/film studio space. I didn’t realize how much I enjoy making these little movies until I had to take a break from them. Absence really DOES make the heart grow fonder!

This song brought tears to my eyes. I may have to join in.

Wow! Such a sweet song! Nice job!
I use several different songs, depending on the child’s age and the character I can feel from their existing relationship with parent/caregiver(silly, serious, flexible, etc). I like to use my “Feelings” song to open up young adolescents and parents to talk about their feelings that day and to get a baseline of how their interactions are going that day.
