It never fails… this time of year I gain an instant sense of exhilaration for the promise of a shiny, new year. A.K.A. I always get into an organizing/cleaning kick. Please tell me I’m not the only one! Usually my ‘kick’ lasts one month at the most. But this year, this year, will be different. Because, this year, I am going to embark on something a bit intense… and I’m asking you to join me.
I’m going to follow the 2012 Declutter Calendar created by Beth Dargis at My Simpler Life. It takes the 2012 calendar and gives you one very specific declutter task a day. Well, you get Sunday’s off… which makes it even better! These tasks are very doable… for example… January 13 says to ‘Throw out the junk in your junk drawer’ and Jaunary 16 says to ‘Get rid of hair doo dads you never wear’. This whole declutter thing is definitely more of a marathon, so I was wondering… would anyone want to train with me?
My husband thinks I’m completely crazy for attempting this and while he will be supportive in his own way I know that I’m going to need more support to accomplish this task. AND I’m going to have support to give to others!
So lets do this together! Are you with me?

I think this is a wonderful idea, and I would like to join you in training!
Super fun Michelle! With all my travels throughout the year, I don’t know if I will get to do ‘every’ item on the list, but I love the idea of doing MANY of these things in 2012! Count me in and thank you for sharing! =)
Okay, I’m a bit scared, but I’m in!
Don’t be scared! That’s what the Facebook group is for… we’re all together in this!
What a great idea & resource! Thanks for sharing, Michelle. I will be in the process of moving throughout this month… my lease is over at the end of January, but we still aren’t quite done putting the floor into the house, so this will prove to be an interesting & cluttered time. Let’s do this!!
I’m totally in! Though I’m doing it without the calendar. 2012 will be a major journey into minimalism for me. It’s another tool in my bag that’s helping me get to my goals/resolutions.
