I’m just noticing that I haven’t written a post in a month. I guess I took an unexpected blog-cation. And, to be completely honest (which, I hope you know I try my very hardest to always be truthful…) I have no idea on a topic for this week either. So, I thought I’d just let you know what I’ve been up to.
Meeting Of The Minds 2012
Kimberly Sena Moore, Rachel Rambach and I get together every year to work on our podcast: Music Therapy Round Table and music therapy resource website: Music Therapy Pro. This happened to be our second annual meeting. We call it the ‘Meeting Of The Minds’ mostly because that’s what we do and because we don’t seem to have very small egos. This get-together has turned into the music therapy event that I get the most excited about attending every year. I think it’s because its really streamlined and concentrated. We get a lot done and I feel really accomplished. It’s not exhausting. We always eat really good food and we always work in some leisure activities. We also always do a photo shoot. I’m loving this years pictures!
The Boom Tote Is In Mass Production!
That’s right. My little Boomwhacker® bag, the Boom Tote, is in mass production. The bag has been improved significantly with reinforced seams, a slide closure and zippered accessory pocket. It will be offered in 3 different fabric choices… which are my favorite Boom Tote fabrics by far. Another great thing is that they are not made by me! They’re being handmade by someone much more experienced than myself… this not only makes the quality much higher but allows me to work on other aspects, like marketing. I’ll let you know you is making the bags later… that’s a whole other story in itself!
Home Improvements
So, I know I don’t talk about my home too much but we’ve made some minor kitchen improvements that I love! It’s funny how little changes in your home can make you so happy. We happen to have this strange kitchen which is huge but not the best configuration. So, while I was away at the Meeting Of The Minds I came back to a big surprise! My husband installed a new island. It’s pretty massive and is a combination of my hubby’s amazing design skills, IKEA and Home Depot. The end has a bookshelf that holds my cook books, the middle has tons of extra storage space, the butcher block top looks great and there is room for three stools so now the two of us can actually be in the kitchen at the same time. Yesterday Edward installed a new chandelier above it, but the kitchen is too messy for me to take a picture for you right now. The island is already doing it’s job of being a place for us to put a bunch of crap. (lol)
