Figure out who you want to meet and ask them if they are coming to conference.
I don’t know about you, but my main purpose of a conference is to network. The presentations and all of that information is wonderful, but nothing replaces the value of shaking someone’s hand, looking them in the face, and having a real back-and-forth conversation. PLUS, I feel like I’m meeting people all the time online thanks to the Music Therapy Pro community.
So, I have a running list of people I want to meet in my head… but, that’s not good enough…. I might forget and I’ll definitely get too caught up in the conference’s flashing lights to follow through and meet people.
So, make that an actual list and actually ask people if they are going to conference and if they wanted to make sure to meet each other.
