I created the Music Therapy Tween blog in July of 2008. Well, initially it started out as a blog for my private practice (at the time) Music Therapy in Orlando. But through the years my business, my thoughts, and the blog evolved to what you are reading now. Through those changes I have always remained grounded in my commitment to provide quality music therapy services.

Music Therapy Bio

I studied Music Therapy at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and am an official music therapist with national board certification. I’ve also completed specialized trainings in Neurologic Music Therapy and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Music Therapy. In the past, I served as the Membership Committee Chairperson and Student Advisor for the South Eastern Regional chapter of the American Music Therapy Association.

I’ve gotten the opportunity to work in a variety of different settings through the years. Both working for established companies and for myself in private practice. Right now, I provide music therapy clinical services at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Treasure Coast Hospice. I talk more about music therapy, specifically, on the monthly podcast: Music Therapy Round Table. I share really specific tips about clinical and non-clinical matters for Music Therapists on this website: Music Therapy Pro.

Sewing Bio

I grew up sewing with my mother who is an avid quilter… until I became a teenager and also ‘too cool’ to keep with that hobby. Now I’m a grown up and have returned to the sewing machine. I have a deep feeling of self satisfaction when I make things that are functional and pretty. And, I feel even better when I can connect other people to those functional items, like the Boom Tote. The Boom Tote is a bag I designed that carries a standard set of Boomwhackers®. I’m so proud of this product! You can learn more about it here.
